Last week’s readings of Christmas poetry and prose at Narberth Museum went down an absolute storm, with one of the audience describing it as “Starting Christmas with a bang!”
On a wet and windy night people came to be warmed by the mulled wine, friendly welcoming atmosphere and a series of fabulous readings. I always get nervous reading in public but there was no need to worry as I was a part of a great team that also included Emma Baines, Meredydd Barker and Emily Holliday, who were once again superb.
Since instigating the Dylan Thomas exhibition and associated series of events at the museum, its been so much fun going back to the literature and sourcing the readings, almost like being a student again but somehow much more satisfying and, dare I say it, studious. There are several more events based around Dylan coming in the new year, which I am sure I will blog about, and I am also in discussion with Narberth about further poetry events- so once again its back to the books! Never mind!
