Last weekend ((22nd – 24th March) Tenby held its first Steampunk Festival. And it was brilliant!
I had been asked to provide interpretive panels for six locations in Tenby as part of the festival and they looked great. I also curated a lovely art exhibition at the De Valence Pavilion (but damn, those walls were hard!) and write and present a talk on H.G. Wells for an introduction to the showing of the 1960 film version of The Time Machine.
My wonderful wife Emma had prepared costumes for us and photographer Alun Crockford was a very busy man taking portrait photos of everyone in their outfits. It was a fun, friendly and really enjoyable experience. And discussions are in place for next years festival and really hope it comes off. I am researching Jules Verne already!
