Services
Below is a list of some of the services I am available to offer.
Please contact me to discuss your requirements and to find out more about myself, my skills, availability and pricing.
I recommend a short, preliminary Zoom meeting for this initial discussion.
Interpretive Panels & Texts
Available to research and to produce interpretive texts, I have developed several museum exhibitions, creating all the interpretive text, plus sourcing images and translation services. I am currently working for Tenby Town Council on a community garden interpretation project, looking at the history of the area as well as environmental issues. See my PROJECTS page for further details.
Art Curation
I have several years’ experience curating art exhibitions, including group and community shows. I work closely with artists through every step of the exhibition process to ensure everything runs smoothly and everyone is happy. I have an understanding of gallery spaces and how to layout and hang art to display it to its best advantage. If you are an artist or have a gallery space, contact me for a preliminary discussion regarding possible exhibitions. I have an extensive network of artist, museum and gallery contacts.
Talks
I have a series of talks prepared and am working on several others for the near future. If there is a topic you are specifically looking for, please get in touch to discuss.
Creative Writing
I am a published author and several of my dramatic pieces have been performed at various events. These have been extremely well-received and reviewed. I am available for commission work and ghostwriting projects. Please contact me if you wish to discuss anything.
Exhibitions & Displays
With a proven track record in creating exhibitions and displays, I work with museums, public sector companies and other groups to create vibrant and interesting displays on a variety of topics. See my PROJECTS page for more details.
Social Media & Podcasting
Social media plays an important role in any business and heritage is no exception. I was previously responsible for Tenby Museum’s social media and ran a series of posts during lockdown entitled ‘Museum From Home’. This ran for over 300 consecutive days and gained a huge following. I have recently taken over Narberth Museum’s social media, which has seen an increase in interaction by 300%. I have also written and recorded numerous podcasts, including a series entitled ‘Hear to See’ – talking about museum objects for the visually impaired which was broadcast by RNIB on their radio station. I have also written and recorded other podcasts on topics including Richard Burton, Kenneth Griffith and Dylan Thomas, as well as discussions with artists Tom Sloan and Louise Burdett. I also have a YOUTUBE page where I host a selection of videos. Contact me if you require assistance with social media or podcasts projects.
Research
All my work is based on detailed research, from interpretation to social media. I believe the devil is in the detail and am diligent in my approach. If you require any research work, please get in touch. I am not restricted to the heritage sector and can diversify in themes.
Accreditation Mentor
I have been an accreditation museum mentor for several years and have helped guide various museums through the complex accreditation process. I believe in a hands-on approach, looking at museums on every level, and can offer advice on areas such as collections care, governance, policies, forward planning and accreditation returns.
Grant Applications
With a 95% success rate, I have an excellent track record of securing grant funding applications, including grants through Pembrokeshire County Council, Welsh Government, AIM and the Federation of Museums and Galleries in Wales. I am familiar with the requirements for Arts Council of Wales and Heritage Lottery Fund. Contact me to discuss any grant applications you may be considering or need assistance with.
