I am currently working hard on pulling together poems for my new poetry collection, due to be published by The Seventh Quarry Press in early 2026. I am delighted with this opportunity and huge thanks to Peter Thabit Jones for his belief in my writing.
I have discovered that I am rubbish at titles! I think this may take some of my time later in the year. At the moment I am editing a body of fifty of so poems (so far), the editing to me the most important part of the writing. One word changed, a sentence moved or punctuated differently can make all the difference in getting the rhythm and feel of the work that I am striving for. So I am shackled to the desk for the time being, trying to decipher scrawled notes (I really need to do something about my handwriting but fear it is too late!) and conjure those important words form the scramble of my brain.
But in all honesty, I have never been happier and this may well be my favourite ‘work’ project of my long working life so far. And today the sun is shining and my wonderful wife Emma has the radio gently playing. What a life.
